SSB SI Recruitment Qualification
SSB Sub-Inspector eligibility criteria include nationality, age limit, educational qualification and other conditions. All conditions must be fulfilled as on the closing date of application.
- Sub Inspector (Staff Nurse): 12th class pass from a recognised Board or University or Institute; and
(b) For candidates qualified before 2008: Diploma of 3 years in General Nursing and Midwife.
For candidates qualified after 2008 but before 2015-16: Diploma of 3.5 years in General Nursing and Midwifery.
For candidates qualified after 2015-16: Diploma of 3 years in General Nursing and Midwifery with internship.
(c) Registered with Central Nursing Council or State Nursing Council as a General Nurse and Mid-wife. - Sub Inspector (Pioneer): Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or institute.
- Sub Inspector (Communication): Bachelor’s degree in Communication or Electronics or Computer Science or Information Technology Engineering or Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised University or institutes.

SSB SI Recruitment Selection Process
The SSB SI selection process is conducted by the Sashastra Seema Bal. During the selection process, SSB consists of several stages to evaluate the physical fitness, medical standards, and academic knowledge of the candidates. Applicants must successfully clear each stage to be considered for the final selection.
Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates will have to undergo PST to meet the minimum height and chest requirements as per the category.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): For the post of SI (Communication) only, candidates must qualify in the PET.
- Male: 1.6 Kms in 6 Minutes 30 Seconds
- Female: 800 Meter race in 4 minutes
- Note: Ex-servicemen are exempted from PET.
Written Examination (Computer Based Test): Candidates who qualify in PST (and PET where applicable) will appear for a CBT.
- Part-I (Common Entrance Test – 50 Marks): General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning, General English/General Hindi.
- Part-II (Technical Subject – 100 Marks): Subject relevant to the post.
- Duration: 3 hours.
- Qualifying Marks: UR/EWS/OBC/Ex-SM: 50%, SC/ST: 45%.
Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will have their original documents verified.
Medical Examination: A Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and Review Medical Examination (RME) will be conducted to assess the fitness of candidates as per MHA guidelines.
SSB SI Recruitment Salary
Selected candidates for the posts of Sub Inspector will get the salary according to the 7th Central Pay Commission. Sub Inspectors will get the salary according to Pay Level-6. Selected candidates will get various allowances along with basic pay, including Dearness Allowance, Ration Money Allowance, and House Rent Allowance.
